Henry Doorly Zoo

Saturday morning, after the boys soccer games, we headed up to Omaha, Nebraska to the Henry Doorly Zoo. This is a great zoo. The animals have a lot of room to roam. We have been so busy lately. We needed a good family day.

Here are the kids with an orangutan statue. The real orangutans there are awesome. We stood and watched a few of them for about 30 minutes. One orangutan had a long stick that he was using to reach through the fence and pick up popcorn that people had dropped. He was very skilled and patient.

Here is Sophie with some rhinos in the far background. My pictures from the day aren't very good. I am not so skilled and patient. Maybe I should have let the orangutan give it a shot.

Here is Audrey reaching for a butterfly in the butterfly exhibit. She really enjoyed the whole day. I can hardly believe that she will be a year old this week.

And here is one of the boys in the jungle exhibit. Come and see us, family and friends. We'll take you to the zoo.

OK, I'm ready for a visit. When is a good time for you? Fall, winter, spring, summer? Or should I just ask when you will be home and not traveling to Utah.

It looks like you had a great day at the zoo.

I need a vacation so bad I'd even come to Missouri. Just kidding I'd come anywhere to see you. If gas weren't so expensive I'd see if I could drive out.
