We have had another brutal Midwest Winter this year. The kids have had inside recess for most of December and January. But today was gorgeous. I think that it hit 67 degrees. Yesterday was beautiful and warm too. What a much needed break from the cold. We have been enjoying family walks and playing at the park. Audrey loves the slide and climbs up and slides down all by herself. So cute. I should have brought my camera.
Landon earned a little money babysitting for me and used it to buy a shirt today. That was a shocker. He is growing up. In the past, a shirt would be the last thing that he would ever spend his money on.
William is on this anti-things made in China kick. Most of our silverware is Oneida brand, and it says made in the USA on the back. But we have a few forks that were made in China. He throws a fit if whoever sets the table gives him a "China fork" and rants "Are you trying to kill me". I know this is extreme. I am guessing that it comes from him having to take back one of his birthday presents last year because of a recall. It had been made in China and was later found to be toxic if ingested. He is a stubborn kid and would eat with his fingers before he used a "China fork".
Sophie made out Valentine Cards for her pre-school class today. The "S" in her name was backwards on every card. We have been working on this all year and it just doesn't stick. She does all of her other letters beautifully and has nice penmanship. But that "S" is tricky.

That is hilarious about the China thing. My kids started noticing everything that was made in China back when they had that big recall and they had to get rid of their Polly Pockets. It is amazing how much stuff we have that comes from China.
Cassidy has also had problems with the backwards "S" - except she would get the first one correct and the second one was always backwards. Try as I might I couldn't get her to do the second one right. Thankfully she finally mastered it in preschool this year.
I love Will stories. I'm surprised Landon bought a shirt with his money. I think my kids just expect me to buy their clothes so they'd probably get a toy.
Emma made all of her S's backwards, too. I still have several of her little notes with the S's.
Will is just too, too funny!!:)
We need to get together. I need some Kristen time!:)
That is so Will. Stubborn? Must get that from Vince. I hate Midwest cold winters. You can never get warm. I'm glad that the last couple days have been nice. They've been kind of yucky here.
Will cracks me up. Maybe a little of the "china" thing was from Gramdma's influence.
Landon is such a great kid. And Will cracks me up. I'm glad you guys got out and enjoyed the weather at the park. Here's hoping that it is on the up from here clear until June!
I LOVED this post. Made me laugh out loud. Both of my kids have a "China" thing, too, but that's just because of Larry. I just roll my eyes. I have to admit that Will has always been my favorite child of yours (does that sound weird?!) Both of my kids love hanging out with Landon because he is so nice and fun, Sophie is the cutest little girl I have ever seen in my life, and I love the fact that Audrey is a wee bit ornery. But Will, he's such an enigma to me, and I love it! Whatever he's doing or thinking or saying, it always seems to be not what I was expecting at the moment. Oh, we sure miss you guys!
